Ringling Motion Designers win big at The Young Ones, Telly Awards, and National ADDYs

Ringling Motion Designers win big at The Young Ones, Telly Awards, and National ADDYs

Motion Design graduates from Ringling College of Art and Design were celebrated recently at two prestigious advertising competitions. Winners of the 2024 Young Ones Student Awards and the Telly Awards were announced on May 13 and May 21, respectively. And Enrique Santa Maria ’26, Motion Design, won a National Gold ADDY last month.

Four Ringling College alumni earned awards in the Young Ones Competition, an acclaimed international student event dating back to 1986. The team of Olive Mei ’24, Motion Design, and Sehui Kim ’24, Motion Design, earned a Student Bronze Cube in the Motion/Film Craft/Animation category for Food Chain, an educational video for Sesame Street that helps children to understand the interconnectedness of life cycles.

Additionally, Kyuri Kim ’23, Motion Design, received the Young Ones Student Portfolio Award in the category of Animation/Visual Effects. And Yixuan Shi ’24, Motion Design, was honored with a Merit Award for her Digital Illustration series, Bridge, Memories, and Homeland

The Young Ones Student Awards are part of the educational outreach of the One Club for Creativity, which aims to celebrate and nurture a diverse, global creative community.

At the 45th Annual Telly Awards, Hanna Kazeka ’24, Motion Design, and Matthew Pearson ’24, Motion Design, together earned a Bronze Award in the Promotional Video category for their NFL Network Promo. Pearson was also honored for his WWE Summer Slam Promo, receiving two Silver Telly Awards for Best Student and Promotional Video.

This year’s Telly Awards received more than 13,000 entries and were judged by an industry body of more than 250 experts from advertising agencies, production companies, and major television networks.

Enrique Santa Maria ’26, Motion Design, won a National Gold ADDY in the Animation or Special Effects category for his stop-motion animation SYFY ID. Enrique won one of only 24 Gold Awards given at the National level. The National ADDYs were awarded on May 31 in Salt Lake City, UT.
