Our world is undeniably global. Trends, inventions, industry practices, and social ideologies transcend borders, time zones, and languages. And so does our creative education. Broaden your horizons and inform your work by taking advantage of one of our exciting international programs. Take a summer, a quarter, or a semester studying and creating in France, Italy, Ireland, or beyond.  Learn how to speak to new audiences, consider new perspectives, and enhance your personal body of work.

BESIGN, The Sustainable Design School: Cagnes-sur-Mer, France

Ringling College has an exchange agreement with BESIGN, The Sustainable Design School in Cagnes-sur-Mer, France. Juniors majoring in a variety of majors may spend one semester as exchange students. The program links design to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals from the United Nations and gathers creative minds from different backgrounds.

Burren College of Art: Newtown Castle, Co. Clare, Ireland

Through an affiliation agreement, Ringling College juniors may spend one or two semesters studying abroad at Burren College of Art, County Clare, Ireland. The program, suitable for Fine Arts majors, includes five courses per semester; courses are offered in drawing, painting, sculpture and photography. Ringling students attending Burren College of Art will remain enrolled as degree-seeking students at Ringling and pay Ringling full-time tuition and fees.

Falmouth University: Cornwall, England

Ringling College has an exchange agreement with Falmouth University in Cornwall, England. Juniors majoring in Film, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography and Imaging, and Visual Studies may spend one semester as exchange students. The university is situated on two main campuses in Cornwall. More than five and a half thousand students from across the globe study here with staff and students working in professional standard environments.

Fulbright Program: A program for graduates

The Fulbright Program is the largest U.S. international exchange program, offering students and recent graduates an opportunity to undertake international study and research. The program was established in 1946 “to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.” More information about the Fulbright Program Adviser and the Fulbright Program for U.S. Students can be found at https://us.fulbrightonline.org.

Please be aware that Fulbright Application Deadlines are usually in early October every year.
To qualify for an award you must:

  • be a U.S. citizen
  • be a graduating senior or hold a Ringling College of Art and Design degree;
  • have a plan for studying, teaching or conducting research abroad, and
  • be in good health

Parson's Paris: Paris, France

Ringling College has a Study Abroad Consortium Agreement with Parsons Paris, located in Paris, France. Juniors in a variety of majors may spend one semester abroad studying Art and Design History and Theory; Art, Media and Technology; Fashion Design and Strategic Design and Management. Ringling students attending Parsons Paris will remain enrolled as degree-seeking students at Ringling and pay Ringling full-time tuition and fees.

Syracuse University, Summer Study Abroad Programs: Barcelona, Spain; Florence, Italy; London, England

Ringling College has an affiliation agreement with Syracuse University to offer students visual arts summer programs in Barcelona, Spain; Florence, Italy; and London, England. Students may study art history, glass casting, and pottery in Barcelona; fine arts, metalsmithing, painting, photography, and sculpture in Florence; or art history, photography, and video in London. Students may lodge with host families or share an apartment with other students in the program. Grades received become part of the student’s official record at Ringling College. 

Willem de Kooning Academy: Rotterdam, Netherlands

Ringling College has an exchange agreement with Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Juniors majoring in Graphic Design, Fine Arts and Business of Art and Design may spend one Spring semester as exchange students. The program features classrooms called “Stations” that combine widely varied materials and technologies, and an internationally focused curriculum. Students can select a focused area of study in one of the three of the following areas: Autonomous Practices, Social Practices and Commercial Practices. Ringling students attending Willem de Kooning Academy will remain enrolled as degree-seeking students and pay the College’s full-time tuition and fees.
